The defender will be looking to bolster the French squad

PSG hectic summer continues as they acquired their fifth player – defender Lucas Hernandez from Bayern Munich on a five-year deal.

Hernandez has endured a difficult time with the Bavarians as his season was plagued by heavy injuries. He hasn’t played a competitive game since injuring his knee, while playing for France against Australia at the World Cup back in November.

“I’m really excited! I’ve been waiting to join PSG for a long time, and it’s finally happened. It’s a very special day for me and I’m very happy to be here,” Hernández said in a statement.

The transfer fee is still unknown, but it is believed to be around 40 million euros, according to L’Equipe.

Hernandez has won the Bundesliga in each of his four seasons, spent in Munich, along with the Champions League in 2020, although he did not participate in the 1-0 win over PSG in the final.

The 27-year-old is the fifth signing in PSG roster, following Marcos Asenso, Milan Skriniar, Manuel Ugarte and Lee Kang-in. On top of that, the French giants famously made a managerial change, hiring Luis Enrique in the place of Christophe Galtier.
