Dallas star player is just one All-Star appearance away from signing a new contract
Luka Doncic is on his way to becoming the highest paid basketball player in the NBA. The Dallas star needs just one more All-Star appearance to be able to sign a five-year deal worth €318m in 2025, or €367.5m if the predicted 10% Financial Fair Play increase is realized over the next three years.
With earnings of €70 million a year, the Slovenian will overtake Steph Curry, who is now the highest paid player with a contract of €51.9 million per year.
Curry leaves behind other NBA stars like Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid.
Doncic, who has been part of Dallas since 2018, averaged 32.4 points, 8.6 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game last season.
