A 4-1 loss at home against Blanc’s ex-club PSG was his final match at the helm of the team, who shared that Laurent left by “mutual agreement.”
Lyon have only 1 point from 4 matches this campaign and is the worst goal difference in the league.
The French team promoted technical director Jean-Francois Vulliez to the head coach position until they found a replacement.
Blanc (57) became Lyon’s boss in October, and the team finished in 7th place the past season, meaning they will not play European football during the current campaign.
It was his 1st head coach job in his home country since leaving Paris St-Germain after the 2015-16 campaign, as he worked as a manager at Al Rayyan in Qatar.
Laurent triumphed with 3 Ligue 1 championships during his time in PSG and another at the helm of Bordeaux.
