Wendell Carter Jr, who missed Friday’s game with a plantar fascia strain, scored 20 points and added 12 rebounds as Magic handed Hornets their fourth successive loss.
Magic went on a 20-7 run in the final five minutes of the first half to take a four-point lead into the locker room.
Orlando held the lead throughout the third quarter but coughed it up in the first minute of the fourth with two triples from Hornets guard LaMelo Ball.
The game was tied at 97 with just under eight minutes to go, but a 9-2 run put the Magic ahead until the final whistle.
The win clinches a 3-1 record for the Magic on the road trip, also picking up victories against the Philadelphia 76ers and Minnesota Timberwolves.
On Tuesday, the Magic will return home for a three-game homestand to face off the New York Knicks.
