Patrick Mahomes admitted he had a piece of simple advice for WR Kadarius Toney as the Kansas City Chiefs trained for the 1st time since the weekend’s defeat against the Buffalo Bills.
“Just be yourself,” Kansas City quarterback advised Toney, whose late offside penalty vs. Buffalo cost Kansas City a go-ahead 49-yard TD. “That’s all you can do in life or in the NFL. You’re can’t avoid mistakes. Different things are going to happen in your life. How do you accept that adversity, overcome it, and do it correctly?
“You make 1 mistake; it happens, and that has nothing to do with who you are. The most crucial thing is how you respond to that mistake.’
“All the receivers in our organization know that I trust them,” Mahomes admitted.
Mahomes had this message for Kadarius Toney after last week’s loss.
He says “you make one mistake that’s not going to define you, it’s going to be how you respond.”
