New Jersey led 3-1 after 2 periods on goals by Timo Meier, Curtis Lazar and Jesper Bratt. However, Evgeni and Sidney notched 67 seconds apart at the beginning of the 3rd period to even the game.
Rickard Rakell scored to put Pens ahead with almost 4 minutes until the end of the match, with his 13th goal before Malkin notched again seconds later. Crosby scored the final goal in the match, as that was his 39th goal this campaign.
Penguins are trying to avoid a 2nd consecutive campaign without making the postseason for the 1st time in Crosby’s career, which started almost 20 years ago.
St. Ivany on getting his first @NHL point on Malkin's goal: "Yeah, it felt awesome. I’m probably more excited about the win than the point, but I’ll take it. That was a pretty awesome play. Set play off the faceoff – and a pretty cool guy to get the assist with the goal." pic.twitter.com/YssSMjWNj1
