The Utah Mammoth have inked Logan Cooley to an 8-year, 80 million dollar deal extension, securing 1 of their brightest young players on the team for the future.
Logan, who is 21 years old, leads Utah with 8 goals and is even for 2nd in points with 12 in 11 matches, helping to power the 2nd-year organization to 1st place in the Central Division (8-3-0). Cooley is on a 4-match point streak and with 6 goals and 3 assists, including a goal in yesterday’s 6-3 defeat against the Oilers that ended Utah’s 7-match winning streak.
Cooley became the 1st player in league history to score each of his 1st 8 goals of the campaign in the 1st period.
“My choice to continue to play with this roster was the easiest decision that I have made in my career in the NHL. I also enjoy living in Utah,” Logan shared after the news of his extension. “The atmosphere that our fans made in each of our home games is amazing, and our owners do everything possible for this franchise to be successful.”
Logan Cooley, signed to an 8x$10M extension by UTA, is a talented young centre with speed, sick hands, excellent passing skill, a wicked shot, and a nose for the net. The underlying numbers aren't quite there yet but he has the tools to be a star. #TusksUp pic.twitter.com/ktIRzIzaIN
