Manchester City and RB Leipzig have not reached an agreement about Josko Gvardiol and as per reports it seems unlikely the Citizens will acquire the young Croatian.
The 21-year-old is valued very highly – around the region of £86m and if such a deal is to be made then he would become the most expensive defender in football’s history.
“A lot has been written and the latest information about Josko surprised us all.” Leipzig’s sports director Max Eberl said.
“Currently we’re still very far apart.”
“There is no agreement, not even remotely an agreement.”
Gvardiol was instrumental for his team’s strong running last campaign and for Croatia strong run in the World Cup, where they finished in 3rd place.
Since then he has been a hot topic in the transfer market, but no team has managed to acquire his signature.
