Manchester City showed no mercy to their ex-captain and legend Vincent Kompany’s Burnley, as they demolished the Clarets with resounding six goals in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Saturday night.

Erling Haaland once again shone for the Blue team from Manchester, as the Norwegian bagged his second hat-trick in 5 days, after swooping an record-equalling 5 goals against Leipzig in the Champions league last 16 knockout game on Thursday.
The 22-year old goal machine was once again invincible in front of goal as he took his debut season to new heights, bringing his tally of goals in all competition to 42 , only 2 short of the record for most goals by a English club player since the Premier League era, jointly held by Ruud van Nistelrooy (2002-2003) and Mohamed Salah (2017-2018).
With his three-goal display, Haaland takes his tally of hat-tricks to six for this season alone, which is three more than what Sergio Aguero ever managed to achieve throughout his whole 10-year spell at City.
Julian Alvarez added two goals in the second half with one coming from substitute Cole Palmer to round off a miserable night for Burnley.
Manchester City at the moment look a menacing force, as Pep Guardiola’s team is aiming for the treble after the International break. They play Liverpool at the Etihad on 1 April.
