Erik Ten Hag’s men got into an early lead after an excellent header from Casemiro.

However, the Red Devils found themselves in a rather difficult spot, having to fend off Chelsea’s attacks. Unfortunately for the London team, they lacked the finishing touch and were unable to carve open the hosts defense.

Anthony Martial doubled United’s lead right before half-time after picking up a pass from Jadon Sancho and slotting it into the back of the net from close range.

In the second half the pace was more steady as United had much better grasp over the game. Bruno Fernandes scored from the penalty spot in the 75th minute to put the match beyond Chelsea.

Three minutes later the returning Marcus Rashford gave United a 4-0 lead for his 30th goal of the season, the first player from Manchester United to reach that number since Robin van Persie in the 2012/13 season.

Chelsea brought one back with Joao Felix, but it was a mere consolation.

The Red Devils currently sit with 72 points in 3rd, having leapfrogged Newcastle United in 4th with 70. Liverpool is 5th with 66 with only 1 game to spare.
