Michael Carrick has revealed that the Red Devils may offer experienced defender Harry Maguire a new contract. The centre-back’s deal expires at the end of the campaign, but Maguire already revealed that he would be happy to continue to play for the club from Old Trafford.
Harry is among the best defenders at Manchester United after Carrick replaced Ruben Amorim.
Ruben was sacked after a 1-1 draw against Leeds in January, and Michael Carrick will be at the helm until the end of the season. The Red Devils are undefeated in all 6 matches under Michael, winning 5 and drawing 1.
Maguire has been a crucial factor during the positive series as he started all 6 games under Michael, being on the pitch the full 90 in 5 of those, and is showing his best form.
Carrick spoke about Maguire’s future as he shared with the media that “there’s a lot more to come” from the experienced defender:
“Harry is playing phenomenally. I’m happy with what he is showing on the pitch, and I expect a lot more from him in the future.”
Michael Carrick has hinted that Harry Maguire will be offered a new deal with Manchester United and believes “there’s a lot more to come” from the defender.
