Manchester United are keen to keep on to Alejandro Garnacho and not let him participate in the upcoming U20 World Cup in his native Argentina.
The 18-year old has become a real sensation this season, ensuring himself a regular start on numerous occasions, but has not started since March, when he picked up a knee injury in a game against Southampton.
Suggestions are that the young Argentinian seems to be close to recovery, but Erik Ten Hag is concerned he will fly away for the U20 World Cup.
The tournament begins on May 20, meaning if Garnacho were to participate he will miss United last two Premier League games and a potential FA Cup and Europa League finals if the Red Devils qualify.
United currently find themselves in a difficult spot when it comes to injuries. Key players such as Marcus Rashford Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane all have limped off in different occasions recently. The team will need every bit of resource it can get and Garnacho is certainly one of those that could sparkle the game to a whole new level.
