Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has given an update on Matthijs de Ligt as the defender continues his recovery from a back problem. The Red Devils are preparing to face Crystal Palace at home as they will look for their 4th straight win at Old Trafford.
The Dutch defender suffered the problem after the 2-1 victory against the Eagles in London at the end of November, with then boss Ruben Amorim initially describing the injury as not serious and even expected De Ligt to be on the pitch against Wolverhampton on December 8th. However, that didn’t happen, and the Dutch defender is still out with an injury.
Michael today gave an update about the condition of De Light: “He has had a back problem, which has been a bit slow to progress. It is something that we are monitoring closely. I expect him to be alright soon, but I can’t make a prediction when Matthijs will be available, but without a doubt, he is improving.”
The Dutch defender is 1 of 4 Red Devils footballers at the moment out injured alongside Martinez, Mount, and Dorgu.
