The first half in Istanbul wasn’t so much one-sided as everyone expected. Manchester City had the upper hand, controlling the ball for longer periods of time, but the clear chances were missing.
In the 27 minute the Citizens had their best opportunity with Erling Haaland, who received the ball in the box and tried to shoot with the left foot, but straight into Onana’s hands.
Ten minutes before the break Kevin De Bruyne fell on the ground, obviously struggling with his right hamstring. He tried to continue, but in a couple of minutes showed he can’t continue and Phil Foden entered the pitch.

After the break City continued to try harder in finding the goal and it happened in the 68 minute. Perfect pass into the box was deflected back towards the edge of the box and Rodrigo was in the right place to slot it home for 1-0.

In the 78 minute Foden had a perfect chance to make it 2-0, but his shot was weak towards the right corner and Onana saved it. Two minutes before full time Romelu Lukaku had the biggest chance for Inter, but his header from close range was directed straight into Ederson.
