The victory of UConn against SDSU was the lowest-viewed on-record final.
Connecticut Huskies’ 76-59 victory against San Diego State Aztecs was watched by 14.69 million on CBS. They beat the record of Villanova’s win against Michigan on TBS in 2018 when more than 1 million people watched – 15.99 to be correct.
If we look for the previous lowest-viewed final on CBS, we need to go back to 2004 when UConn played against and won again against Georgia Tech, and 17.09 million watched it live.
The positive news is that the final was the most viewed program on TV on Monday.
On the other hand, the women’s NCAA final was the highest watched on Sunday when LSU lifted the trophy against Iowa 102-85. Almost 10 million people watched it on ABC and ESPN2.
