The Hungarian eliminated the Spaniard 2:0 sets.

Fabian Marozsan, world number 135, upset Carlos Alcaraz, world number 2, and from the next week – world number 1 and beat him in straight sets 6-3, 7-6 (4) in a game from the 1/16 finals at the Italian capital Masters 1000 tournament on clay.

Marozsan converted his only available break point in the 1st set to win 6-3, as Alcaraz had one chance to break his opponent’s serve but didn’t convert it.

In the 2nd set, both tennis players converted 1 break, as strangely or not, Carlos was closer to losing as he saved 5 break points. Finally, in the tiebreak, Alcaraz led 4-1 but then lost 6 straight points, and Fabian won the biggest match of his career so far to advance to the 1/8 finals; he will face world number 16 Borna Coric.
