Maple Leafs defeated the Blues 4-2 at Enterprise Center.

Auston Matthews notched his NHL-leading 49th campaign goal and had an assist, leading the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 4-2 triumph against the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center in Saint Louis, MO.

Auston, the 1st selection in the 2016 NHL Draft, had recorded hat tricks in his 2 previous matches. Matthews’ go-ahead goal came on a power play at the beginning of the 3rd period. Toronto’s forward has notched 14 goals and provided 9 assists on this campaign’s power play.

Matthew Knies also notched, and William Nylander netted a short-handed goal for Toronto. Bobby McMann notched on an empty net. Mitchell Marner gave 2 assists for the victory. Ilya Samsonov made 19 saves for the Maple Leafs.

Brandon Saad and Torey Krug notched for the Blues as  Joel Hofer made 25 saves.

The Maple Leafs triumphed in 4th consecutive match and swept the 2-match series between the franchises.

St. Louis has been defeated in 3 of their last 4 matches.

Toronto will play at Arizona on Wednesday, while St. Louis will welcome the Islanders on Thursday.
