Dallas superstar scored 73 points vs. the Hawks.

Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic had a night to remember before the beginning of the weekend, lighting up State Farm Arena for a career-high 73 points in a 148-143 triumph against the Hawks in Atlanta.

It marked the highest-scoring match in the league this campaign, passing the 70-point performance by Philadelphia 76ers MVP Joel Embiid a few days ago vs. the Spurs. It also tied Wilt Chamberlain and David Thompson for the 4th-highest output in National Basketball League history. Wilt, who owns the league record with 100 points, also had a 78-point match, while Kobe Bryant scored 81 points on January 22nd, 2006.

“Those are legendary players,” Luka admitted. “I still can’t believe it.”

That was just the 15th 70-point match in the league, and the Slovenian is the 10th basketballer to do it.

He notched a 3-pointer with less than 3 minutes remaining on the clock to reach the 70-point mark. With Mavs leading 140-136, Doncic scored another 3-pointer. Luka had 41 points at halftime.
