Dallas is now one win away from reaching the NBA Finals

P.J. Washington broke a late tie with a clutch 3-pointer, and Daniel Gafford made key plays on both ends of the court down the stretch, propelling the Dallas Mavericks to a 116-107 victory over the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals on Sunday night. With this win, the Mavericks take a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The Mavericks are now just one win away from advancing to the NBA Finals for the first time since their championship season in 2011. They can close out the series when the teams meet again on Tuesday in Dallas.

Dallas secured the victory with a decisive 12-3 run in the final 3:38 of the game. The Mavericks shot an impressive 55.9 percent from the floor and were 50 percent (14 of 28) from beyond the arc. They also capitalized on their opportunities at the free-throw line, shooting 83.9 percent from the stripe and taking 14 more attempts than the Timberwolves.

Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 26 points, nine rebounds, and a game-high nine assists. Despite Minnesota shooting 50.6 percent from the floor, their struggles from three-point range (9 of 30) were a significant setback.

Luka Dončić contributed across the board for the Mavericks with seven rebounds, five assists, and five steals. P.J. Washington added 16 points and eight rebounds, while Derrick Jones Jr. chipped in 11 points.

Karl-Anthony Towns had a double-double for the Timberwolves with 14 points and 11 rebounds but struggled with his shooting, going 5-for-18 from the field and 0-for-8 from three-point range. Mike Conley scored 16 points, Jaden McDaniels had 15, Naz Reid added 14, and Kyle Anderson finished with 10 points.

With their sights set on the NBA Finals, the Mavericks will look to maintain their momentum and close out the series on their home court.
