The guard and his representative – waited a 1 year on the contract to allow Philadelphia to maximize salary cap space and now land on a contract after Tyrese’s breakout All-Star campaign at 23.
He can formalize the extension once the NBA’s free agency signing moratorium ends at the beginning of the weekend. The contract doesn’t feature a player option.
Tyrese is the organization’s future face and 1 of the new big 3 in Philadelphia, alongside Joel Embiid and new addition Paul George. The guard averaged almost 26 points and over 6 assists for the franchise a campaign ago – including almost 30 points a match in the 76ers’ 6-match 1st round postseason defeat against the Knicks.
Tyrese was the 21st overall selection out of Kentucky at the draft 4 years ago and has averaged over 18 points in his 4 campaigns with Philadelphia.
