“He’s a terrific head coach,” Boston’s president claimed. “He will only progress at anything he can learn from this season because Joe always tries to improve. And he’s accountable.”
Joe (34) finished with a 57-25 regular season record, and his franchise finished 2nd place in the East in his debut campaign as manager. However, the Celtics’ postseason ended after Miami Heat beat them in Game 7 at TD Garden in the Eastern Conference finals.
Mazzulla took the place of Ime Udoka, who left after a sex scandal with a female staff member.
Three Boston assistant coaches will leave the franchise to work with Udoka, the new Houston Rockets manager.
