The Argentinian World Cup winner played 2 campaigns with Mbappe in Paris before inking with Inter Miami as a free agent in the summer of 2023.
During their time together, Kylian and Lionel triumphed with 2 Ligue 1 trophies and 1 Coupe de France – but the big aim to win the Champions League felt short, and the Argentinian was even booed by the French side fans after consecutive exits in the 1/8 finals in the UCL.
“You always miss being a teammate with Messi,” Mbappé admitted. “For an attacker like me, you love running into space; with Leo on your team, you are certain you can get the ball. It’s a luxury that only the Argentinian can give you. Overall, being on the same pitch with him has been special. Leo deserves all the respect, and, in our country, he didn’t receive the respect he deserved.”
