French football legend Zinedine Zidane recently commented on some current topics surrounding his former club, Real Madrid, including the transfer of his compatriot Kylian Mbappé. Zidane, who has been out of coaching since 2021 after his second stint with Real Madrid, shared his thoughts on various aspects of his tenure and the future of the club.
Reflecting on his time as a coach, Zidane highlighted the performances of key players: “Who impressed me the most while I was a coach? When you watch how Kroos, Modric, and Benzema play for you for an hour without losing the ball, that is football.” He also admitted that there were moments when he wanted to join the action on the field: “It happened to me once or twice, but unfortunately, I couldn’t do it. I was glued to the sidelines. I love being close to my players; I don’t like sitting down.”
Regarding the much-anticipated transfer of Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid, Zidane expressed his confidence in the young star’s future at the club: “Mbappé is here now. He will make history at the club and surpass everyone.”
