World men’s No. 3 Daniil Medvedev got his a second win at the ATP Finals in Turin with a 7-6 (7), 6-4 win over Germany’s top seed Alexander Zverev in an hour and 43 minutes of play in a Red Group match of the tournament .
The first set was extremely dramatic, with the two exchanging one break each. The Russian hit in the first game of the match, but the German returned the break in the sixth game for 3:3. Thus it came down to a tiebreak, in which things on the court continued to develop unpredictably, but at 7:7 points, Medvedev took advantage and then closed the set.
The close game between the two continued in the second set, with break points missing until the ninth game when Zverev missed a great opportunity. In the very next game, however, the German was wobbly, which the Russian took advantage of, finishing the opponent at the last moment with a break for 6:4.

Medvedev remains unbeaten so far and has secured a place in the 1/2-finals in Turin, while Zverev, who beat Carlos Alcaraz in his first match, will face the already eliminated Andrey Rublev in search of a must-win if also wants to move on to the last four. Medvedev, on the other hand, will meet Alcaraz, who also needs a win to qualify for the semi-finals. The games are on Friday.
