Messi scares Inter Miami staff with an injury

Lionel Messi injured his left ankle in training, but the injury does not appear to be serious and the Argentine megastar is expected to be available for Inter Miami’s U.S. League Cup semifinal away to Philadelphia Union, ESPN reported.

Messi stepped crookedly and was visibly in pain, but after a short break he finished the exercise.

To reiterate: he continued on and has since traveled with Inter Miami to Philadelphia.

“I don’t think it’s anything serious. I didn’t watch the whole training because I had a meeting afterwards and I didn’t see exactly what happened, but now everyone is fine,” Inter Miami coach Tata Martino said.
