The veteran is making quick gains and is now at the heals of the leaders
Michael Block has joined an elite group of players at the PGA Championship after a successful run on Friday.
Block birdied 3 out of his first five holes of the second round to go 2 under as he heads to his second nine. That put the 46-year-old just 2 shots behind DeChambeau, who plays later this afternoon.
With his display the 46-year-old is putting himself into great shape for the top 70 cut, which is due to happen at the end of Friday.
This is Block’s 5th PGA appearance as he qualified by finishing in a tied second at the PGA Professional Championship this month. In his experience he has never made the cut in the major events and this is his big chance.
