Columbus interviewed Babcock for the job.
Ex-Toronto Maple Leafs manager Mike Babcock is among those that the Columbus Blue Jackets have talked about regarding the head coach position at the franchise.
Peter Laviolette, ex-Washington Capitals manager, and Pascal Vincent have also been meeting with the Blue Jackets about the job. The franchise is expected to announce its new manager in the next few days, as the favorite is Laviolette.
Mike had a mentor role with Vermont Catamounts in 2020 and then led as the manager University of Saskatchewan Huskies men’s club in 2021-22.
Babcock spent 5 seasons with Toronto Maple Leafs before being fired at the start of his 5th year after a poor start to the season.
