Milan defeated Newcastle 2-1 at St James’ Park, but the victory was not enough for Milano’s side to advance to the UCL 1/8 finals, and they will play in the UEL next year.
The Magpies had the lead at halftime as the only goal in the first 45 minutes of the match was scored by Joelinton with a fantastic shot in the 33rd minute after Lewis Miley’s assist.

However, Christian Pulisic netted in the 59th minute after Olivier Giroud’s assist to tie the game. The Italian team shocked the fans at St. James Park as they took the lead in the 84th minute as Samuel Chukwueze scored after Noah Okafor’s assist after a perfect counterattack.
Newcastle finished in the last place in Group F with 5 points after 6 matches and will not play in Europe anymore this season.
Milan finished 3rd with 8 points after 6 games and will continue in the 1/16 finals in the Europa League as PSG finished with the same number of points, but the French club has the advantage at head-to-head matches.
