AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli could not explain how his team lost 3-0 to Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes in Group F of the Champions League.
“I think in the first half we did what we wanted to do and we did it well. But then a distraction led to a goal in our goal. The second goal, though, was one we absolutely shouldn’t have conceded as we had all the right conditions to avoid it. We had to show more concentration and organization and that made everything much more difficult. I think for 60 minutes we played better than PSG. I can’t blame my players for their attitude, it’s just that PSG were better on a technical level . We can certainly do better, but at the moment we are being punished for every little mistake. This should act as a motivation for us to perform better because the level of competition is very high, just as it is in the big games in Italy. We have the ability to do better,” emphasized Pioli.
“The Newcastle result (Borussia Dortmund won 1-0) is the only positive news from today and we have to make the most of it. I don’t know if we have to win the other three or not but we have to believe and do better. We have the quality to win these games.” added the Italian.
