The Milwaukee Bucks’ Damian Lillard won the All-Star Game MVP, notching 39 points to lead the East to a 211-186 victory against the West in the highest-scoring All-Star Match in the league’s history.
Damian joined Michael Jordan as the only player in NBA history to triumph in a Saturday night event and take the MVP trophy in the same All-Star Weekend.
“Whenever you’re mentioned in the same category as Jordan, it is fantastic; it is a huge honor, even if it’s All-Star Weekend,” Lillard shared after the match with the Kobe Bryant MVP trophy placed on the table before him. “Because if it were that easy, more basketballers would have achieved it.”
The Bucks guard triumphed in the 3-point contest at the beginning of the weekend, beating Karl-Anthony Towns and Trae Young in the winning round. Michael was in the 1st place in the dunk contest in 1988.
