With his new deal, the goaltender will earn almost 4 million dollars per year.
Filip, who is coming off a breakout campaign, was scheduled for an arbitration hearing at the end of the week.
Wild got him from the Ottawa Senators last year, and Gustavsson finished his debut campaign with the organization with a 22-9-7 record with a .931 save percentage and a 2.10 goals-against average.
Minnesota had projected divergence starts between him and Marc-Andre Fleury in the postseason. Still, Filip started in 5 of their 6 postseason matches before being defeated in the 1st round by Dallas Stars.
Marc-Andre, who has 1 more year on his contract at a 3.5 million dollar cap, shared after the end of the season that he is ready to be the 2nd goalkeeper but doesn’t want to be traded.
