The deal comes exactly 1 week after the franchise picked the Austrian 5th overall at the 2023 NHL Draft.
Reinbacher notched 3 goals and had 22 points in 46 matches last campaign with Kloten HC in the hockey league of Switzerland. In the postseason of the Swiss National League, he recorded 1 goal and 1 assist in 3 matches.
David has international experience, as he was part of the Austrian roster at the 2022 and 2023 IIHF World Junior Championships.
He even has the record for the highest-picked Austrian at the National Hockey League draft, and the expectations for the defenceman in the upcoming season are very high from the hockey fans in Montreal.
