Rafa Nadal advanced to his 1^st final since 2022 Roland-Garros by defeating Duje Ajdukovic 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 on clay at Nordea Open.

Nadal continues to improve, reaches first semi-final of the season

After needing 4 hours to eliminate 36^th in the world Mariano Navone yesterday in the ¼ finals, the Spaniard had a slow start vs. Duje and had a break down in the 2^nd set before turning things in his favor.

“Ajdukovic had 1 of the best backhands that I competed versus,” Rafa shared. “It was very, very difficult, without a doubt, but I found a way to survive and to advance to a match for a title after a long time without being in this position. So that’s very positive, and I’m very happy with what I achieved.”

Rafa will face world number 51 from Portugal Nuno Borges at the final tomorrow as the Spaniard is playing at the competition in Sweden for the 1^st time since he triumphed as a 19-year-old in 2005.
