Rafael Nadal gave a press conference today and shared the sad news that he cannot play at the upcoming Roland-Garros. He suffers from a hip injury that didn’t allow him to play since the beginning of the season, and Nadal also expects the next year to be his final as an active player.

The Spaniard, who won the French Open 14 times, will miss the Grand Slam tournament in France for the 1st time in his career. He debuted at the Grand Slam that is played on clay back in 2005.
Rafa, who will be 37 years old in June, shared the unfortunate news from his tennis academy in Manacor with the fans and the world. He also doesn’t know if he will play tennis again till the year’s end.
“The progression of the injury I sustained in Australia has not gone as I would be comfortable. As a result, I have lost goals since then, and the French Open has become impossible,” Rafa announced in the press conference.
“You never know what the future holds, but I plan that 2024 will be my last year.”
