Walter Mazzarri will return as Napoli head coach, Fabrizio Romano reported.
The experienced coach signed a contract until the end of the season, replacing Frenchman Rudy Garcia.
For the 62-year-old Mazzarri, this will be his second stint in charge of Napoli. The first was between 2009 and 2013 and was one of the most successful in his entire career. Under his leadership, Napoli won the Coppa Italia in 2012, and finished second in Serie A the following season.
In his career, Mazzarri was coaching Inter, Sampdoria, Regina, Torino and Watford. His last job was in Cagliari, from where he was released in May 2022.

Until Monday Igor Tudor was considered the main favorite for new Napoli coach, but last night club boss Aurelio De Laurentiis changed his mind and decided to trust Mazzarri for a second time.
