Napoli were flying high last season under Luciano Spalletti’s guidance, leading them to their third Serie A title and first since 1990. In the summer Rudi Garcia took over as Spalletti decided to leave the team at the top.
Now, after a shaky start to the campaign for the Italian champions, Garcia’s place is everything, but secure. At the moment Napoli is at 7th place in Serie A with an asset of 8 points and are as many as 7 away from the leader Inter with just 2 wins in the first 5 rounds of the season.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, club president Aurelio De Laurentiis expects that Garcia will be able to stabilize the team’s results in the next four matches, which are against Udinese, Lecce and Fiorentina in the championship, as well as against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
If that doesn’t happen, a coaching change is possible during the national team break in October. So far, Napoli have not considered options for a new coach, but the names of Igor Tudor and Christophe Galtier, who led Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain respectively during the last campaign are being mentioned.
