Adam Silver shared today that Las Vegas is “definitely on our list” of potential places for expansion organizations.
Las Vegas has been a topic for a long time. The time when the National Basketball League will add new teams to its existing group of 30 organizations is still unknown. The league has another season after this campaign on its 24 billion, 9-year media rights contract, and the NBA commissioner claimed that new expansion discussions won’t happen until the end of the current media deal.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver on the idea of the league granting Las Vegas an expansion team:
"Vegas is definitely on our list."
Silver is expected to address further expansion questions on Saturday before All-Star festivities. https://t.co/ER7d4jnGmQ

“We want to know what our media relationships will be in the future, but then we will discuss the expansion,” Adam shared again today in the interview on “The Pat McAfee Show” on ESPN, 1 of NBA’s media partners.
Las Vegas welcomed the league’s summer league, has a successful WNBA organization, and hosted the ½ finals and the final in this campaign’s inaugural in-season tournament, which the LA Lakers won.
