Warriors' start has been ejected 18 times in his career - more than any active player in NBA

The NBA suspended Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green indefinitely on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after he struck Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face, resulting in a Flagrant 2 foul and ejection.

The league, under the direction of operations chief Joe Dumars, imposed the penalty immediately, marking Green’s second suspension this season. Before his return to play, Green is required to fulfill specific conditions set by both the league and the team.

Citing Green’s history of unsportsmanlike acts, the NBA emphasized that the decision takes into account his repeated violations of sportsmanship standards.

As of Wednesday, the Warriors had not issued a statement, but they announced that Green’s suspension would be discussed during shootaround on Thursday in Los Angeles before their game against the Clippers.

A key figure in four Warriors championships, the 33-year-old Green experienced his 18th career ejection, the highest among active NBA players, during the third quarter of a 119-116 loss to the Phoenix Suns.

The incident occurred as the Warriors were inbounding the ball near their bench, with Green and Nurkic vying for position near the baseline corner. The altercation resulted in Green’s right arm connecting with Nurkic’s face, prompting the suspension. Nurkic, expressing frustration, commented, “That had nothing to do with basketball. I’m just out there trying to play basketball.”
