The NE Patriots are releasing veteran safety Jabrill Peppers, as these moves on the back end of their defense were not expected.
Jabrill, who is in his 9th NFL campaign and 4th with the Patriots, has almost 4.5 million dollars guaranteed remaining on his deal for the current campaign.

New England finished training camp with 6-year veteran Jaylinn Hawkins and this year’s 4th-round selection Craig Woodson as their preferred safeties, as Jabrill, Dugger, and Pettus were their reserves.
Peppers was the top choice of the ex-coaches Bill Belichick and Jerod Mayo.
In the Patriots’ final preseason match on August 21st, Jabrill started in a match when most players who had secured roster spots didn’t play. That was a clear sign that his position in the organization for the upcoming season was not guaranteed.
The safety has appeared in 99 matches as he has started 85 of them, with his stats being 494 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and 7 picks. Most certainly, Peppers will be recruited fast, and it will be no surprise if he signs with a new team in the recent season ahead of Week 1 of the new campaign.
