Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has called for patience from the club’s fans following his recent investment in the team. Ratcliffe, who completed a £1.25bn deal to acquire a 27.7% stake in United in February, emphasized that rebuilding the club will take time.
In an interview with BBC Sport, Ratcliffe explained that the process of rebuilding Manchester United is like a long journey, and fans must understand that significant changes won’t happen overnight. He acknowledged the impatience of supporters but stressed the need for patience as the club undergoes transformation.
Ratcliffe expressed his frustration with the delay in new recruits being able to start work due to contractual obligations and gardening leave. He highlighted this as a common challenge in football, where integrating new staff members can take time.
Regarding Manchester United’s recent performance in the FA Cup, Ratcliffe acknowledged the team’s progress to the final despite challenges. He recognized that United will be considered underdogs against Manchester City in the final but emphasized the importance of a realistic outlook and gradual improvement over time.
