Newcastle United demolished PSG 4-1 as the Champions League returned to St. James’ Park for the first time in 20 years.
The Magpies looked on a mission all night long as they opened the scoring as early as the 17th through Miguel Almiron.

The avalanche did not stop there as the home side were 2-0 up before half-time as left-back netted the ball home past Gianluigi Donnarumma’s reach.
As soon as the second half began Eddie Howe’s men were at it again as swooped past a clueless PSG defense as Samuel Longstaff made it 3-0.
Vague signs of hope emerged in the Paris staff, when Lucas Hernandez reduced the deficit to 3-1. However, it proved to be a mere consolation as Newcastle were able to keep the game under control and in stoppage time Fabian Schar sealed the Paris giants doom with a fine finish, beyond Donnarumma.
The unbelievable Magpies now lead the so-called “group of death” with 4 point out of 2 games and have made a huge step towards qualifying for the knockout stages.
