After returning to the Champions League for the first time in 20 years, Newcastle are preparing a serious transfer campaign, with the Magpies’ biggest target appearing to be Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, for whom an official offer has even been submitted already.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Newcastle have made a €95m bid to Napoli for the Georgian, who had a superb debut season at Diego Armando Maradona, scoring 14 goals and adding 17 assists in all competitions. Kvaratskhelia is considered the upgraded version of the Newcastle star winger Alain Saint-Maximin.

In addition, there will need to be more competition in Eddie Howe’s squad, as the already packed calendar will become even tougher with Champions League participation. Napoli, for their part, are hoping that more teams will be vying for Kvaratskhelia’s signature in order to get as much money as possible.
