The Brazilian star silenced the critics in his return.

Neymar broke his goal drought this year as he led Santos to a 2-1 win against Vasco da Gama in the 4th round of the Brasileirão.

After the game, the ex-Barcelona and PSG forward spoke about his critics and the mounting pressure ahead of the World Cup in North America in the summer.

“Several days ago, they said I was the worst footballer in the world. Today, I scored twice, and that’s the most important thing,” the Brazilian legend shared. “That’s the beauty in our game. One day, people claimed that you should retire, and the next, they say you have to go to the World Cup.”

After scoring the opening goal in the match in the 1st half, Neymar celebrated by heading to the corner flag to perform the same dance Vini Jr did after scoring in both legs of Los Blancos’ UCL playoff tie with Benfica.

“The celebration I did was in support of Vinicius,” Neymar acknowledged.

“I said to Vini after his goal in Lisbon, where they insulted him and were racist towards him, that if he scored a goal, he must do the same celebration, and I will do the same if I score.”
