Asked about the triumph of Messi and his teammates from the national team of Argentina at the World Cup in Qatar, the 31-year-old Neymar commented in an interview with the Brazilian online publication Globoesporte that he was happy for his friend, but also sad at the same time.
“He went to heaven with Argentina’s national team, winning everything in recent years. And with Paris Saint-Germain he went through hell. We went through hell – he and I,” the Brazilian said.
Neymar did not comment on details, but added that Lionel Messi was not fairly criticized in Paris and did not deserve such treatment when he left the team from a footballing point of view.
