The Al Hilal forward (31) suffered the injury with the national team in a World Cup qualifying defeat against Uruguay on October 17th, before undergoing surgery 14 days later.
The Copa América will start on June 20th next year and the match for the trophy will be played on July 14th.
“It’s too early,” the doctor shared with the media. “There’s no point in skipping steps to recover faster and taking unnecessary risks. We expect that he will be prepared to play football again at the beginning of the 2024 campaign in Europe, which is August.
“If Neymar is patient and takes the time to recover fully, the expectation is that he can be himself and compete again at the highest level.”
