Free agent DE Yannick Ngakoue and Chicago Bears have agreed to a 1-year, 10.5 million dollar deal with 10 million dollars in guaranteed money; his agent confirmed the news to the media.
The #Bears are signing former #Colts star pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue to a 1-year, $10.5M deal, sources say, giving them a weapon off the edge they’ve been seeking. Ngakoue has never played for Matt Eberflus, but he’s played in his system before. It should be seamless. pic.twitter.com/kbj8qAUnRx

Chicago will be the defensive end 5th franchise since the beginning of the 2020 campaign. Yannick had at least 8 sacks in every campaign of his 7-year career in the league and finished a 9-5 sack campaign with the Colts.
Chicago wanted to add a player to that position since the beginning of the off-season. In the past campaign, the Bears were led in sacks by Jaquan Brisker with 4. The NFL team from Chicago pressured opposing QBs on 22% of pass plays – only Atlanta Falcons did worst in the past NFL season.
Chicago’s 20 sacks in the past season were the fewest in the National Football League.
The new Bears defensive end has 65 sacks in his career.
