Francis Ngannou was unaware of Deontay Wilder appearing at a PFL event but was happy to see him.
Deontay addressed a 2-fight exchange with Francis last week, and the ex-UFC fighter confirmed his discussions with the boxer.
“We talked about that not long ago before they announced the potential fight at the end of the year,” Ngannou shared in an interview with The Schmo. “So that’s why we are pausing it at the moment, for him to do what he needs to do in December, but we were sincere about a 2-fight contract.”
Francis also shared that he would be happy to face Tyson Furry in a hybrid boxing/MMA match, but he thinks Furry would never agree.
Deontay Wilder says he’s genuinely interested in a two fight deal versus @francis_ngannou: 1 mma fight and 1 boxing match. He says he “offered” it but unclear in this clip where it stands. pic.twitter.com/ZPQFXj6s4R
