Following the championship-clinching win over the Miami Heat, Nikola Jokic was anxious to find out the parade date to celebrate the first championship in Denver Nuggets history.
The actual reason was not because he was impatient for the celebrations, but because he can return back home afterwards.
“No. I need to go home,” he jokingly reacted to learning the parade scheduled on Thursday.
Jokić was asked if he’s looking forward to the Championship parade.

“I mean, we succeed in our jobs, and we won the whole thing. It’s an amazing feeling. But like I said before, it’s not everything in the world,” he added sharing his uncommon perspective on becoming an NBA champion, “I think. Okay, I won it. Not I, we won it. But I think it’s not the most important thing in the world still. There is a bunch of things that I like, that I like to do. Probably that’s a normal thing.”, he explained.
