Discussions about Lando’s future in Formula 1 began in 2023, including speculations about Red Bull as a possible replacement for Sergio Perez, whose deal will expire at the end of 2024, along with another driver in F1.
Lando still has 2 years to run on the deal he inked in 2022, but has now made it clear where his future in Formula 1 belongs. Reporters asked the driver why he inked an extension when he had 2 full years before his deal was due to expire. Norris answered:
“I wanted to focus and not worry about contracts in the next few seasons.”
Norris added that there were rumors about his future, and with his new deal with McLaren, he ended it. Now, he can think only about competing with other drivers on the track.
“If you want to go against the best driver in the world, it’s not the best thing to do” ❌
