It will be the 1st MLS work for Schwarz, but he brings plenty of European coaching experience to the league. Sandro’s 1st managerial position was at FSV Mainz 05 after being the team’s Under-19 & 2nd team’s head coach, as well as to other clubs in the lower divisions of German football.
At the helm of Mainz 05, where he held the job from the summer of 2017 until November 2019 before agreeing to become Dynamo Moscow head coach in Russia, where he spent almost 2 years from October 2020 to the summer of 2022.
He became Hertha Berlin’s head coach in July 2022. He worked there until April 2023, after being fired after his side’s 5-2 loss against Schalke 04 that left them at the bottom of the league as later Hertha was relegated to the German’s football 2nd tier.
